This St. Patrick's Day Weekend, learn about real Ireland.  Workshops on Irish music, language, dancing, sports, and more will be hosted by both Irish and American artists, athletes, etc.  Get a real taste of Ireland today and learn about the tiny island's fascinating past that has impacted so much of the world.

Saturday

5:30 PM :: CÚPLA FOCAL - IRISH LANGUAGE
Interested in learning the ancient language of Ireland? Well what better chance than at Feile Parkfield’s very own crash course. Brought to you by our very own MC and festival coordinator Mikaela McDonnell and Co. Donegal native Conor Cunningham (Hatchlings, Alfi).

5:30PM :: GAELIC SPORTS
Experience the 134 year old gaelic sport, brought to you by Kildare gaelic football player Willie McDonnell (Cappagh Gaelic Football club, Co. Kildare).

6:00PM :: UILLEANN PIPES
Two of our performing pipers, headliner Joey Abarta & Fiachra Meek (The Coalinga Boys, Alfi, Quirke & The Quiet Men) come together to talk about the cultural background to the national bagpipe of Ireland and the playing of the instrument.  

6:30PM :: MUSICAL TRADITIONS OF IRELAND & AMERICA
Old-time’s musical relationship with Irish traditional music with Meredith Axelrod.

12:30PM :: IRISH DANCING
Learn the dancing techniques of Ireland. A guided demonstration brought to you by MC & festival organiser Mikaela McDonnell & musician Fiachra Meek (Alfi, The Coalinga Boys, Quirke & The Quiet Men).

12:30PM :: GAELIC SPORTS

1:30PM ADAPTING THE 5 STRING BANJO TO IRISH TRADITIONAL MUSIC
Ryan McAuley (Alfi, The Coalinga Boys, Quirke, & The Quiet Men) gives a talk & demonstration about how he adapts his American old-time five string banjo to traditional Irish music. All workshops to be held in the Parkfield Community Hall (except Gaelic Football, which will meet at the tree house)
